My little attempt at a fashion portrait. As you know Suby is the Fashio photographer. Please go easy on me here. Most of the work was done by the model, Laurence, styling by Grace and the lighting by Deji77. All I've done is clicked the shutter and toned it in photoshop.
The idea was to have the dress posed in a public setting. I have removed a bit of the public element but tried to retain something from it there.
This shot is part of a fashion series which I am undecided as to whether to put up on Alakija.com, the reason being that this site really is for less of commercial work and more of my ideas and inspirations. This is also the reaon why the image has been converted to mono. The colour version is for the client.
P.S
Looking at this image once more, you definitely deserve an "I Likey" from the Subster for such an awesome peice. Ditch the colour and make sure you give the client the B&W version
Superb mono conversion again Jide. This and the one two days ago have incredible clarity and I see they were both shot at 200mm/F2.8. You must have a great lens there. Great pose and you've darkened the background very effectively so she really stands out from the crowd.
I don't dish out 'Me likeys', but if I did you'd have one!
Jide Alakija: I have to admit that the mono conversion is helped by the lighting, I've been doing a lot of black and white studies of late and have been doing more work outside the camera to get it right. I'm glad someone is noticing my efforts. Thanks Steve.
I won't say I am getting chills or goosebumps from this particular piece but there is something about it. But to quote a good friend, "Love It!!". (I am trying out my Simon Cowell side)
