Tosin and I were taking portaits of each other today at a restaurant while we were waiting for our lunch. This is the one good shot I got of her. She managed to get some good ones of me which I'll process on her behalf.

The full frontal view used here tends to give her face a squarish look in my opinion. I know you're quite familiar with the classic posing lines for female faces so i wonder why you chose this particular one.You nailed the focus but i think the DOF was so small that the image just looks soft (including the eyes).

The pseudo high key processing is interesting but i think the photo is distinctly lacking in contrast. Zero shadows makes it look a bit flat.

I remember in the making of the lord of the rings, they explained that lady galadriel, the elvish queen of the galadhrim in Lothlórien, (ok i am a geek) -- was so mystical, deep and wise that she shone stars from her eyes. So they used twinkling christmas lights when filming beautiful Cate Blanchett.
