This is the sequel to Sunset dance #1 that I promised to put up sometime ago but never found the time to do so, again from Alpha beach in Lagos, Nigeria with the same four girls dancing and the other two spectating.
I have another shot from the beach to show that goes with this one but I much prefer this one to that one. Again this looks better large than it does on the blog. Anyway I hope this image isn't "boring" by the new shutterchance standards.
Oh you may have noticed that my recent shot are a bit on the dark side, this is deliberate, why follow the convention when you can always break the rule. Okay I'm rambling again. Sit back and relax and enjoy the dance.
i think the darkness, in terms of the girls, really works. its a unique approach, allowing them to remain anonymous. this enables the viewer to concentrate on the movement, colors, and atmosphere of the shot, rather than the expressions and features of the faces.
Beautiful. I get the concept of leaving the girls dark, but I kind of would have liked to see their expressions as well. Regardless, beautiful, summery, feel-good shot.
Jide Alakija: I wish I could have got some more expression on their face but my cameras dynamic range was somewhat limited by the fact that the sun was actually ahead of me, if I exposed for the subjects I wouldn't have got the blue in the sky or the beach.
Also I took this when I was really an amateur. Way way back.
I prefer this to the first one, in terms of colour and composition. But it's not quite what i'd call your most interesting shot! On the otherhand a friend of mine is really interested in your work, i'll pass ure number over.
Jide Alakija: Oh! Cool. Thanks. What you doing this weekend?
gawsh theres so much I love about this picture most especially the sand and the water, I feel like I can scoop the sand in my hands from the piccie...weird huh

Absolutely beautiful. The tones & pp are spot on. Gives me inspiration to go down the beach right now with the camera!
Jide Alakija: Thanks Andy.
